Manitoba Emergency Services College

The Manitoba Emergency Services College is located in Brandon, Manitoba. The College is committed to providing superior emergency response programs that meet the needs of emergency service and industry.

With the increasing complexity of modern technology and the continuing emphasis on professionalism, it is apparent that the emergency services and related areas have evolved into a highly technical and sophisticated science requiring competently trained individuals. Aware of this situation, the Office of the Fire Commissioner, Manitoba Emergency Services College is dedicated to providing programs and services of superior quality to meet the immediate, as well as the future needs in our ever changing society and to enhance the quality of life safety to all.

Lakeland College

Jump-start your career! If you’re seeking a position as a career fire fighter in a
municipal setting, this program can give you a competitive edge. The NFPA
Standard 1001 - Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications - is widely endorsed by
departments as a necessary credential for new hires. Our program’s curriculum
exceeds the requirement set out by the NFPA, and includes more practice runs
and other hands-on skill building.

The program is offered several times a year at fire etc. in a full-time 12-week
block.
Upon completion, students will be eligible to receive:
NFPA 1001,
NFPA 472
Awareness and Operations levels,
and NFPA 1051 certificates.

The Fire Fighter Training Program is both IFSAC and ProBoard accredited and
forms the prerequisite for entry to other NFPA professional standards training.
 

Justice Institute of BC

The Fire & Safety Division offers two programs for the Fire Fighters. Both are based on the National Fire Protection Association's (NFPA) 1001 Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications and is offered only to Fire Service Personnel.
